Ok Ok, I guess it is about time I post something on my new blog. Sorry it has been a long time coming, you see I have been on a bit of a vacation for the last few weeks. So maybe we will start there...shall we?
New Zealand, or En Zed as I like to call it (or at least that is what the local radio DJ's say) is where I went, where I saw, and where I took about one-ba-gillion pictures....don't even worry about it.
So this is how it all went down: Double T and Audrey took me to the airport and I got on a plane and sat for about 2 hours then I got off that plane and sat in an airport for about 4 hours, then I got on another plane and sat for about 12 HOURS (no seriously, I didn't get up the whole time because I was trapped in the middle), or maybe that should be another plain because when got off the aircraft it was actually 2 days later, dun dun dun! Anyway, I then got off that plane and sat in the airport for about 7 hours, then I got on another plane and sat for about 3 hours, then I got off that plane and sat for about 5 hours until Mel flew in from Australia (I don't know what the local radio DJ's call that because I didn't go there).
Here is a picture from the Wellington Airport where I played Brain Age on my DS for about 3 hours. (I am still about 57, I guess I need a little more training)
Boy that was fun, and here is a picture of the sky, you were probably in the sky too, but I was just a little higher:
Wow right? Yeah! Ok, lets move on. Then Mel and I caught the bus into a suburb of Wellington and spent the evening with a family she had been living with...they were fun and we gave them Ice Breaker lollies (that is how Kiwis say candies) because they don't have them in En Zed...how sad for them.
The next day we went to the museum, it was great. Incidentally, did you know that corned-beef is a popular form of protein supplementation in En Zed (that's New Zealand) in fact, the people like it so much that they crafted this shrine to that great corned-animal and I was fortunate enough to get a photo (that is how Kiwis say picture).
Next I stood in front of this great boat, so I had Mel take a picture, isn't it great? I think this must be the vessel that was used to get from Old Zealand to New Zealand.
So the next day we got up early and caught a ride down to the ferry to travel from the North Island down to the South Island. That was fun because we were on a boat so it was slow enough that we could see all the beautiful greenery up close and a little faster than walking. Here are a few pictures from the ferry, this one isn't so bad:

And this one doesn't suck:
And this one is of the house that I will probably buy some day:

So that is it, we made it to the South Island with no trouble. I bet you want to know what happened next don't you......well that will just have to wait because I didn't think I had jet-lag, but it is now 2:40am and I am not asleep yet so I obviously need to do something about it.
And this one is of me and Mel, don't worry, there will be many pictures like this and I will certainly have an increasingly more difficult time getting my entire face in the shot:

Thanks for sharing, Molly! You provided the first giggle of the day! Glad you had such a great time. Hope there's more pictures and commentary to come.
Ha, ha!
Thanks for the pictures and commentary. Glad you had such a good time!
Molly! I'm crazy jealous. Visiting New Zealand has been a huge dream of mine for a long time. How cool that you've been there! I'm so glad that you have a blog. I started mine over a year ago to stay in better touch with my family and it seams more and more family bloggers keep popping up. I love it! Congratulations on your graduation! I can't wait to hear more about your trip.
Molly, sounds like you had a fun trip. Congrats on graduating...it's a lot of work!
Wow! Your trip looked so fun. My husband keeps saying he wants to go to New Zealand or Australia. I especially enjoyed your film of the mole. I wasn't aware they were indigenous to beaches! The pictures looked great too!
Your cuz, Amy
